ADVGENORISSA stand for Advocate General, Odisha came into existence by creating a separate State of Odisha on April 1st, 1936. The Odisha High Court was separated from the Patna High Court in 1948. After the establishment of the Odisha High Court… Since 1948, the Office of the Advocate General, Odisha, has been functioning in the allotted building; it is a permanent office with two sections, ie. Judicial and Administrative-cum-Accounting.

The judicial aspect is divided into five sections: writ, civil, criminal, contempt, and State cases. Each branch is assigned congregation staff and section elders to oversee the branch. In addition to the overall management of the office, the department oversees the maintenance of the office building and the creation and hiring of staff and other attorneys and assistants. The Advocate General’s Office has an IT infrastructure to maintain data and information relating to all legal proceedings before the Hon’ble Supreme Court and Orissa High Court for the greater good of the State.
